An Overview about Me
I am a proactive and motivated individual with a drive to succeed. My journey towards becoming a licensed therapist has been one of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I understand the struggles that immigrant minorities face, having experienced them personally as I grew up in China before immigrating to the United States. My personal and academic experiences have given me a deep understanding of different cultures and perspectives, and this is something that I bring to all of my interactions with clients.

I earned my bachelor's degree in both psychology and human development and family studies with a minor in digital studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I plan to graduate in May, 2024, and move forward to my graduate program in rehabilitation and mental health counseling in Virginia Commonwealth University.

As an intern, I gained valuable experience in facilitating communication between staff, families, and children. I was also able to provide high-quality care based on the developmental needs of the children in my care. Through my work, I established relationships with parents and their children, which helped make the transition from home to school as seamless as possible.
During my part-time job experiences, I had the opportunity to monitor front desk traffic, providing support and answers to all incoming questions while showing compassion for individual needs. In addition, I managed multitasking work including package organization and incoming and outgoing resident registrations with timely attention, demonstrating strong organizational and time-management skills.
As part of my research experience, I was responsible for recruiting participants and managing a longitudinal study on children's daily media use. This included administering onboarding calls, conducting follow-up interviews and emails, and organizing participant feedback in a database. Additionally, I ensured the safety and confidentiality of all participants by implementing strict protocols.
My research experience has given me a solid foundation in data organization and cleaning. I have assisted with the development of statistical analysis and analysis interpretation to pinpoint significance in the findings. Furthermore, I have developed reports on a comprehensive overview of the research study.
In my role as a research assistant, I undertook a literature review on the latest trends related to our research topic to aid in decision-making. I also implemented statistical analysis of the collected data using programming and initiated a project investigating the correlation between stress and desire. I was committed to upholding the integrity of our findings by adhering to quality standards throughout all stages of the research process.
